National Retail Federation (NRF)

If you like retail and thinking about a career in it, then the NRF has a few scholarships & grants that may help you reach your educational goals. Up to $25,000 in awards along with attending important events are in store for the NRF scholarship grants winners.

The purpose of the NRF is to build awareness of the retail industry, advancing talent through education, experiences & scholarships grants, and, fostering career growth for those presently working in the industry.

National Retail Federation Scholarships Grants

The Next Generation Scholarship offered by the NRF recognizes future retail leaders by a $25K college scholarship. This is their top award and winners are expected to be on their way to an outstanding retail career.

The Dream Big Scholarship is for those students currently working in the retail industry and looking to advance their careers through further education. Twenty full tuition scholarships are awarded to the University of Phoenix.

The Ray Greenly Scholarship offered by the NRF is all about subjects relevant to digital retail, and open to all US students. The award is up to $25,000 for those students majoring in engineering, marketing, business , e-commerce, and computer science. The focus with this award is bringing a brick & mortar retail store to life via a mobile app. Digital retail is a fast growing way of conducting business in the retail field. Working in retail web designing, app developing, or a social media expert is what the Ray Greenly award is looking to help.

The NRF offers the The Student Challenge. It’s a business-case competition so students can demonstrate their entrepreneurial spirit and creativity to the NRF retail judges. Participants could move on to New York City for the Retail BIG Show in front of retails biggest executives and a chance for $5,000 in scholarships & grants.

The Rising Stars Scholarship was initially started to educate students all about the retail industry and it’s a great career opportunities. Winners get up to $1,500 in the form of a travel scholarship so they can attend the Student Program at Retail’s BIG Show.

Retail Council of Canada (RCC)

The Retail Council of Canada describes themselves as the voice of retail in Canada since the year 1963. It’s a not for profit industry association which represents 45,000 store fronts. Their mission is to advance, promote & protect the interest of its members via advocacy, education & communications.

Retail as a Career Scholarships Grants Program

The RCC awards (22) scholarships grants with one being the Interac Scholarship worth $5,000, another $3,000 Canadian Retail Hall of Fame Scholarship and (20) $1,000 Industry-Sponsored Scholarships.
Winners also receive hotel and travel expenses to the Toronto STORE – Canada’s BIGGEST Retail Conference; along with the Excellence in Retailing Awards Gala too. Once their, scholarship winners can network with the best and most talented retail professionals in the Canada retail industry.

Applicants will have to write an 500-700 word essay based on the stated question at their website.

Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA)

The RILA is a trade association representing leading retailers and act as a premier advocate. Its a forum for executives in problem solving who shares leading practices. They also act as a provider of vital education for retailers, and a network provider for world class forums.

RILA Unilever Retail Scholarship Grants

$5,000 in scholarships to students pursuing a career in retail. Applicants must be a Junior status, full time enrolled in a university with a retail curriculum with a 3.0 GPA and a Enactus member.

The ascena and Jaffe Family Foundations

This program is for high school seniors and current college students who are children of Associates of ascena. Its limited in its scholarship pool so if you are a child whose parent is/was a member then apply to it. It is funded by the Jaffe Family Foundations. Applications can be submitted starting December 7th and the awards range from $1,500 – 5,000.

Leavey School of Business

This is a Jesuit business school in Silicon Valley with scholarships in Retail Management. With a firm grasp of both theory and practice Leavey Business School prepares students for real world training. They have a top retail program and offer the scholarships to support it too. They have nine scholarships grants programs.
