If you live in Michigan, and you are unemployed or about to be laid off, you may be eligible to obtain an education courtesy of the NWLB (No Worker Left Behind) Michigan Program. The purpose of this program is not only to educate Michigan residents, but to educate those residents in a way that prepares them for emerging knowledge-based job opportunities in the state of Michigan.

While the initial goal of the NWLB (No Worker Left Behind) Michigan Program was to help 100,000 workers to obtain the skills that they needed to get back to work, or to start work in a more advanced industry, the program has been successful – to the point where more than 80,000 residents have participated, that the program will far exceed that goal.

If you are eligible for the program, you will receive $5000 each year for your education, for two years. The total amount cannot exceed $10,000, and you must finish your educational program within four years. Only certain programs are approved for the easy scholarship tuition program, and some examples of these programs include biotechnology, advanced manufacturing, health care, and renewable energy.

In order to be eligible for the program, you must be unemployed, have received notice that you will be terminated or laid off. If you are working, you must not have a total annual family income of more than $40,000. In either instance, you must be eighteen years of age or older, and if you are between the ages of eighteen and twenty-three, you cannot have been a high school graduate within the past two years. You cannot currently be a full time college student.

There are, of course, additional requirements for the NWLB (No (Michigan) Worker Left Behind) program. You must attend a school in Michigan, and this school must be an approved training program, or a Michigan University or community college. You must also take a skill assessment through a Michigan Works Agency. Obviously, you must be a resident of Michigan. All simple criteria for fast & easy scholarships for Michigan students.

In order to apply for this tuition program, you must visit your local Michigan Works Agency (MWA). Each agency will differ in terms of how the application process is carried out, and the amount of time that it takes to get a decision. JRF Scholarships

The Jeannette Rankin Foundation (JRF) Scholarships for Single Mothers all started in 1978 in the memory of Jeannette Rankin the first woman to be elected to the United States House of Representatives and the first female member of Congress. She was referred to as the Lady of the House at that time which started the common used phrase at the White House today. Upon her death in 1973 she left money to specifically help mature, unemployed women workers and this led to the beginning of the JRF Scholarship and Grants for single mothers. The University of Cincinnati does not place restrictions on the number of freshmen eligible to recieve the base level Century scholarships. One characteristic that many people may not even realize puts them in a minority, though, is their status as a left-handed person.

You probably weren’t aware that left handed people are a minority. In fact, only ten percent of the entire population is left handed! One college in Pennsylvania, however, both recognizes and celebrates this individual diversity. Each year, Juniata College awards up to $1,500 in academic scholarships each year to students who experience some type of handicap as a result of being left-handed.

These scholarships for left handers are funded by the Mary Francis Beckley Scholarship Foundation. This weird scholarship just for being left handed was founded in 1979. Since that time, at least 40 students have been awarded scholarships from this fund. Those students who have excellent academic records are chosen as left handed college scholarship recipients. Any left-handed sophomore, junior, or senior student attending Juniata College is considered for this left handed award. This college offers a wide variety of programs, including Programs of Emphasis, or Majors, in accounting, biology, communication, education, politics, and language. Each student attending this college has a unique opportunity to win one of several merit unknown scholarships. The amount of these awards, in many cases, ranges from $8,000 to full tuition scholarships.

Although many scholarships for left handed people websites frequently mention left handed scholarships, the award offered at Juniata College is the only one designed specifically for left handed students. Unless you’re willing to look out for unusual and weird scholarship opportunities to finance your education, you may not see them even when they come your way.

People who qualify for these available college scholarships for short people usually have a medical condition that has resulted in dwarfism. More than 200 medical problems and conditions can cause people to become short-statured. Because those who struggle with short stature often have a host of other physical and developmental concerns, LPA is committed to helping these individuals succeed and thrive.

Financial college scholarships for short people range from $250 to $1,000, and possibly even more. All of these awards are administered by a scholarship committee formed by LPA, Inc. In order to qualify, students must attend a university, college, or vocational school located within the United States.

LPA offers these grants for short people in a specific order. First, preference is given to individuals who have been diagnosed by a doctor with one of the medical conditions that cause dwarfism. If no qualified applicants are found among this group of people, individuals who are paid members of LPA and have an immediate family member diagnosed with this condition may be awarded theses tuition scholarships.

The third group of people who may qualify for a short people scholarships award include individuals who have been diagnosed with dwarfism but are not members of LPA. Occasionally, no other persons apply for the scholarship, and other disabled students are awarded these education scholarships. If no one else can be found who qualifies for the scholarship, people who are not disabled but have demonstrated a unique or unusual need for financial assistance may benefit from this scholarships fund.

Students must submit three letters of reference and a statement of no more than (500) words about their condition in order to apply. The short people scholarship application deadline is April 22^nd of the year the student is planning to attend college. Transcripts are also required.

The P Buckley Moss Society has three disability scholarships grants worth up to $1,500 which  are easy to get, if you fall into their disability scholarship grant criteria. You may a perfect fit for one of the three below. If you do, it’s a relatively easy scholarship to apply for. Read below to see if you fit into one. 1)  Judith Cary Memorial Scholarship

2) Anne and Matt Harbison Scholarship

3) P. Buckley Moss Endowed Scholarship

The famous artist P. Buckley Moss had dyslexia in her school years and these disability scholarships grants give special recognition to others who struggle with a learning disability. Established in 1987 by Moss collectors, the P Buckley Moss Society goals are to create an awareness of P Buckley Moss’s art and to have a charity that reflects her ideals. Having these disability scholarships is one way for P Buckley Moss to do this. It sure is evident that P Buckley Moss’s heart is as wonderful as her art, to have her award these disability grants to those who truly could benefit from them.

Judith Cary Memorial Scholarship

This disability scholarship started in 1999 and it is awarded to a student who is working either full time or part time toward a special needs certification or an undergraduate or graduate degree in some field of Special Education. One thousand dollars is awarded to one student who is pursuing either a Bachelor’s or a Master’s Degree in Special Education. To apply; applications must be postmarked no later than March 31. Application requrements are that all students are considered reguardless of financial need. Also nominations for the Judith Cary Scholarship can be made only by members of the P. Buckley Moss Society which you submit your application to. The criteria to win the Judith Cary Memorial Scholarship award is the following:

1) Nomination by a P. Buckley Moss Society member (brief letter from nominator stating relationship is optional).

2) Completion of a minimum of two years of undergraduate work. Transcripts must be provided to verify this.

3) Proof of acceptance into a specific program to teach special needs students, i.e., letter from a counselor, dean, or administrator.

4) Two letters of recommendation, one academic and one personal (not from a relative).

5) A short essay detailing school/community/work activities and achievements.

6) An essay of 250-500 words discussing career goals, teaching philosophies, reasons for choosing this career, and ways in which you plan to make a difference in the lives of special needs students.scholarship for the disabled is named to honor the Society’s first president, Anne Harbison, and her husband, Matt, the first treasurer. Anne and Matt Harbison were very important in the founding of the P Buckley Moss Society. Since Anne was a school counselor, she understood firsthand the challenges faced by the many students with learning disabilities today. Students with a learning disability many times graduate from high school with no acknowledgment of all their learning disabilities toward achieving their academic, technical, or artistic goals. When a student does reach and even go beyound all expectations, there is no recognition from this hard work. The P. Buckley Moss Society created this scholarship – the Anne and Matt Harbison Scholarship to acknowledge this achievement.

The second P Buckley Moss Society 

This scholarship is awarded to one student for up to $1,500 per year, and awarded to one high school senior with a certified language-related learning disability who is studying post-secondary education. This disability scholarship is  renewable for up to three additional consecutive years.  Applications turned in no later than March 31. 

The application criteria is:

1) Nomination by a P. Buckley Moss Society member.

2) Verification of a language-related learning disability.

3) High school transcripts.

4) Two letters of recommendation, one from a faculty member at your school and the other from someone who knows you outside of the school (cannot be from a relative).

5) Wite essay responses to the following (4) questions:

1) Select three words that best describe you and provide evidence and examples of these qualities.

2) Explain your specific learning disability, how it has challenged you, specific strategies you have used to cope, and the effects it has had on your life.

3) Discuss your accomplishments in extra-curricular, community, work, church interests. Then focus on the one that’s of most importance to you, explain how you became involved in it, and tell how this involvement has affected you.

4) What are your plans for next year? What career do you hope to pursue? How would this scholarship benefit you?

P. Buckley Moss Endowed Scholarship

The third P Buckley Moss Society disability scholarship grant, is a scholarship that indicates P Buckley Moss’s dedication to young people who have learning disabilities and are interested in studying for a career in the visual arts; the P. Buckley Moss Endowed Scholarship. The award can be as high as $1,500.This will be granted to one or more high school seniors with a demonstrated financial need, a language-related learning disability, and has shown an artistic talent who plans on a career in visual arts. This P Buckley Moss Endowment Grant is potentially renewable for up to three additional years. To be eligible for this disability scholarship you must meet the following:

1) A graduating high school senior.

2) Verified specific language-related learning disability.

3) Verified financial need must be shown.

4) Visual arts talented.

5) Acceptance to accredited four-year college or university or two-year community college.

6) Intent to pursue a career in a visual arts field.

7) Meet the application requirements for the P. Buckley Moss Endowed Scholarship.

The P Buckley Moss Society scholarship recipients will be notified via telephone before or on May 1st notifying them of the scholarship, the amount, and the conditions. A check in the amount of the scholarship award will be issued in the name of the student to the college or university which the recipient will be attending. This is nice because you can attend any college of your choice. Proof of acceptance into the degree program must be provided by the winner by June 1. Checks are made available after August 1.
