You also need to check out specialized culinary organizations for scholarship opportunities, such as the American Institute of Baking, which does not award funds for your education, but instead invites you to their program for an education – at their expense. You also need to check out various union organizations that relate to the food or culinary industry as well, as many of these will also offer culinary arts scholarships.

You need to look for individual awards that are made on the national level. These are scholarship funds that were set up separately from any other organization or school. Examples of this are the Clark DeHaven Scholarship for students who plan to enter a food service career or the Charlie Trotter Culinary Education Foundation, which is awarded to students who seek a culinary education and career in general. Some of these will be geographically available. For example, the Charlie Trotter award is only available to those who live in the Chicago area.

There are numerous opportunities available that will allow you to attend a specific cooking school, or to train under a specific chef, without any fees paid. You should definitely check out these opportunities. Often, these programs are only made to existing culinary students, and only those students are made aware that the opportunities even exist, and how you should go about applying for them.

When you start applying for culinary school scholarships and other culinary opportunities, make sure that you’ve received a well-rounded education to this point. These programs give weight not only to your academic standing, but also to extracurricular activities and volunteer work that you have done. Additionally, a great deal of emphasis will be placed on your commitment to your education and culinary career, as well as your potential for success, based on your overall attitude and on your current culinary skill.

Give special attention to any requested essays or personal statements, because this can make or break your application. Additionally, you should include a cover letter with your application, where this is possible, and the cover letter should summarize your achievements and your goals in the culinary field.

These awards are not just made to students in the United States. Instead, they include students in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. These Microsoft scholarships are merit based, and you must have at least a 3.0 GPA, and maintain that GPA. If you have a possible GPA of 5.0, however, you must maintain a GPA of at least 4.0.

Should you win a Microsoft Scholarship, the award amount will be paid directly to your school, and it cannot be transferred to a different school other than the one listed on your application. The funds can only be used to pay tuition, and this does not include room, board, books, or other fees associated with your education.

Many people work hard to get a computer science scholarship from Microsoft not only for the financial help, but also for the opportunity to work in the internship program in Redmond, Washington. This internship is highly coveted, and will offer the student real world experience. They offer several different Target scholarships to those who meet their requirements. Target has joined forces with other organizations to offer additional finances as well.

Target is education goaled. They push education on the employees in their stores and corporations. They realize that education is the key to success and they do their best to honor those students who and make a difference in the future.

Target has Scholarships of many different kinds. One is called the Target All around Scholarship. This is targeted toward high school seniors and students who are under the age of 24 and who are in undergraduate college. The purpose of the Target All around Scholarship is to honor the student who has the potential of someday being a leader in their community. These students are already beginning to make a difference and Target wants to help them reach that goal. Target focuses on what the student is already doing for their community. They also have to have a high academic record.

Every year Target awards over 2,100 of these Target All around Scholarships. Four of these Target scholarships are in the amount of $10,000. The deadline each year is November 1st for all Target scholarship applications and documents to be received.

Target also has some other Target Scholarships like the CFDA/Teen Vogue Scholarship. This is for students who show remarkable talent for fashion. This is for students who want to attend college and get a bachelors degree in the fashion field. There is a top student honor scholarship that is worth $25,000. Five other students receive a $5,000 Target scholarship.

Target is also involved in the scholarship opportunities in affiliation with the United Negro college fund. The Target/UNCF Community Leaders Scholarship Program awards $5,000 to eight UNCF college juniors that are in need of financial assistance. The criteria for the Target UNCF scholarship is that a student must have a sense of wanting to help their community. Not just a sense but a deep commitment. They also must be enrolled in a UNCF college. They need to have a 3.0 grade average.

Target also supports the Hispanic Scholarship Fund. In order to receive this Target scholarship a student must be Hispanic and a U.S. Citizen. These awards can be anywhere from $1,000 to $5,000.

A Target scholarship application can be done directly with Target.com for some of their scholarships and also by going to any one of their above Target college scholarship affiliates.

Many have not heard of the Daad Scholarship or the Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst. Daad is also known as The German Academic Exchange Service.

Many have not heard of the DAAD Scholarship or the Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst unless you live in Germany. DAAD is also known as The German Academic Exchange Service. It is a publicly-funded independent organization of higher education institutions in Germany. They have fourteen offices all over the world. There is one in New York. They help support over 57,000 students and faculty for international research and study. They do this to help tie institutions around the world together. They also want to promote Germany as the place to go to pursue your academic studies.

They have so many different DAAD scholarships to be awarded but we will try and give you a general idea so as not to confuse. First there are the DAAD Undergraduate Scholarships. This is a DAAD scholarship to help those wishing to study abroad in Germany. There are many requirements for this Daad scholarship. One is that you must be a second or third year student. You must be seeking DAAD support for at least a 4 to 10 month period of study. You must be a United States citizen or a Canadian citizen. A student must have a well thought out study, research or internship plans. The DAAD language evaluation form must be turned in. A student must be interested in contemporary German and European affairs. A student will be given a monthly stipend of approximately $863 and health insurance. Applications for next year must be in my January 31, 2011.

There are many different DAAD undergraduate scholarships. These are all in detail on the link that we will provide on the bottom of this page. These are all scholarships pertaining to studies, internships or research grants. Here are a few of the ones we found:

The Study Scholarship from Germany is designed for those students close to completing their undergraduate studies. The monthly stipend ranges from $1,000 to $1,300 for USA students. Deadline is November 1st for those in the music, performing arts or visual arts field of studies. For those outside of these fields; the deadline is November 15th.

The Study Scholarship for Fine Arts, Architecture, Music, and Dance is offered to those completing their graduate courses. The requirements are similar to those for the study DAAD scholarship and the Deadline is November 1st.

The DAAD graduate scholarships are also for studies, research or internships. They even have study scholarships for artists and musicians. Each of these scholarships has different deadlines. They vary with each DAAD scholarship. There are also DAAD PHD scholarships for students wishing to get their PhD’s.

The website that is below will go into great detail about each of the different scholarships. It will tell you where to find the applications and all of the documents that you will need to have with the application. They will also give details on deadlines. The German Academic Exchange Service or the Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst will be more fully explained here too.

There will be 50 more chosen that will receive $1,000 a year.

Another scholarship for older women returning to college comes from the AARP Scholarships Foundation. They want to extend these scholarships to older women over 40. It is their goal to give women a chance to go back to school and fulfill their dreams of getting an education and starting a career. They award 100 scholarships ranging from $500 to $5000.

The Jeannette Rankin Womens Scholarship Fund is another great place for scholarships for older women. The Jeannette Rankin foundation has a vision. This vision is to break the cycle of poverty in women that are 35 years or older and that are in the low-income bracket. The JRF has been giving out about 500 scholarships a year to qualified women. The requirements are that women must be 35 or older. They must be low-income. In addition, they must be a United Stated citizen. The applicant must be enrolled in, or accepted in an ACICS accredited school. These applicants can be looking to gain a vocational or technical degree, an associate’s degree or a bachelor’s degree. They will also consider things like what your goals are, the challenges that you have faced thus far and your financial situation.

The Jeannette Rankin Scholarship is set up as to not discriminate against color, race, creed, sexual orientation or disabilities. The JRF older women scholarships application for 2010 have already passed but there will be information posted for 2011 by November 1st.

It is possible for older women to get the education that she has always wanted. It is possible for women who are 35 or older and living at a poverty level to pursue a rewarding career. There are older women scholarships like these listed that can make her dream come true. They will give older women the information to get on the right track and get the education that they deserve.

Eligibility is determined in regards to the initial enrollment year. In order for a student to be eligible; it is imperative that they submit their application for submission and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by the March 1st deadline of the enrollment year.

Academic Scholarships for First-Time Freshman
Colorado Christian University offers numerous scholarships to First-Time Freshman. The students must remain constantly enrolled for the 4 year period of their undergraduate studies to maintain eligibility. Determination for the Christian college scholarships is based on GPA scores and SAT or ACT test scores from the high school the student last attended. It should be known that if your GPA scores were only fair; strong test scores could offset that problem. Let’s look at their Christian university scholarships that are available:
• $10,000 Trustees’ Scholarship ($40,000 total for 4 year program) – In order to qualify for this scholarship the applicant must have received a SAT II score of 1,860 or a ACT score of 28. In addition, they must have carried a 3.8 GPA in High School. In order to keep the scholarship they would have to carry a 3.5 GPA at CCU.
• $8,000 President’s Scholarship (A four year total of $32,000) – Eligibility requires an SAT II score of 1,650 or a 28 ACT score. The High School GPA must have been 3.8 and a 3.3 GPA must be maintained at CCU.
• $7,000 Dean’s Scholarship (4 year total of $28,000) – For this scholarship the SAT II requirement is 1,530 or an ACT score of 22. The student should have carried a 3.4 GPA in High School and will be expected to maintain a 3.2 GPA at CCU.
• $5,000 Honors Scholarship ($20,000 total over 4 years) – The SAT II score here can be 1,410. The ACT score can be 20 and the High School GPA 3.0. A 3.2 GPA must be maintained at CCU.

Colorado Christian University offers scholarships directed at Transfer Students
If a transfer student has acquired at least 15 college credits since High School, then that GPA will be accessed for the scholarship. However, if the student has less than 15 college credits their High School GPA will be used. Let’s review the Christian scholarships for transfer students:
• $8,000 Transfer Scholarship 1 ($4,000 each semester) – Prospective transfer students must have a 3.5 GPA and maintain at least 3.3 at CCU.
• $6,000 Transfer Scholarship 2 ($3,000 each semester) – Transfer students must have a 3.25 GPA and maintain at least 3.2 at CCU.
• $4,000 Transfer Scholarship 3 ($2,000 each semester) – Transfer students must have a 3.0 GPA and maintain a 3.0 at CCU.

Additional Colorado Christian University Grants and Scholarships that are not repayable are offered to undergraduate students as well. Let’s review these opportunities:
• Colorado Christian University Grant – This grant is based on financial need. The requirements and benefit amount vary from year to year.
• Athletics Scholarship – These amounts vary as well and are offered to student athletes. The athletes must be recommended by the CCU Athletics Department and typically satisfactory academic progress must be maintained.
• Music Performance Scholarship – This scholarship is awarded to students with exceptional ability in music. Applicants must join the CCU Band or Choir and must pass an audition. The award amount varies and the student must maintain progress in their academics.
• Partner Initiative Scholarships – Many Christian churches and ministries, along with other Christian schools and organizations, have partnered with CCU to offer financial opportunities for students in need.
• First Generation Minority Student Scholarship – The competition is fierce for this scholarship. It is designed for minority students who are in financial need. This is for students whose parents did not attend college.

As you can see Colorado Christian University offers a variety of scholarships and grants for Christian students designed to offer them a helping hand and to make attending their university as financially worry free as possible.
