In order to apply, all students need to be legal residents of the United States, or should be attending an US Military School outside of the country. An essay needs to be written of around 1,500 words on the theme of independence, as well as why it was so important. All essays will be judged upon the basis of creativity, the quality of writing, the development of the theme, the expression as well as the clarity of ideas, punctuation, grammar as well as spelling and sentence structure. The Davis Putter Scholarship

The Davis Putter Scholarship is set for students who actively participate in movements that are based on social as well as economic justice. All of the April scholarships provided by the Davis Putter Foundation are based on financial need, and are available for students who are looking to apply to attend a college or university; as well as those who actively participate in progressive movements. All applicants must have a history of participation in movements in the United States, and a very strong preference is given to students who are planning to work in the United States in the future. The AFSA High School Senior Scholarship Contest is eligible only for applicants who are US citizens or legal residents. The Google Science Fair

This April scholarship is available to students who are between the ages of 13 to 18 and reside anywhere in the world. Moreover, students who have been home schooled can also apply as long as they fall in the same age group. In order to apply, students must create a project for a science fair based on various different categories that are specified yearly. Three finalists will then be selected, and the prize winner will get a total award of $50,000 as well as a geographic expedition to the Galapagos Islands. The remaining two winners will be awarded around $25,000. The April deadline for this is the 1st. The NIADA Scholarship in March

The NIADA Scholarship is administered by the National Independent Automobile Dealers Association, and the total award available is $3,500. The scholarship however, is only available to candidates in any of the four NIADA regions (all of the 50 states fall in the NIADA regions). Hence, in order to qualify for this March scholarship, students must exhibit outstanding academic achievement, which should be reflected by a high school transcript and a demonstration for top-level college work as demonstrated by SAT or ACT scores. The deadline for this monthly scholarship is March 1st, and in order to apply, students might be required to write items such as essays, etc.

The average award for this is around $7,500 and the last date for application is March 9th. LIFE Lessons Scholarship Program

The LIFE Lessons Scholarship Program is exclusively designed for students who have suffered the death of a parent or a legal guardian. In order to be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must be between the ages of 17 to 24 and should be presently enrolled in to an accredited college or university that is located within the 50 United States, Puerto Rico or the District of Columbia. Moreover, applicants must either make a three-minute video or write an essay of 500 words, explaining how the death of their parent affected them emotionally and financially. Any employees of the Life and Health Insurance, or their relatives are not eligible for application to this scholarship. The deadline application date is March 12th. The total amount that can be rewarded ranges from $1000 to $10,000.

James Beard Foundation Scholarship Program

The James Beard Foundation Scholarship Program is designed for students who plan to enroll, or are already enrolled (part-time) during the next year, in any course of study which leads up to a certificate or degree at an accredited or licensed culinary school. Students who demonstrate a large amount of financial need will be preferred for the scholarship. Successful applicants are selected on the basis of their academic performance, leadership activities as well as participation in community and school activities. The statement of career, family instability and outside appraisal also plays a major part in selection. The total grant ranges from $1,000 to $20,000.
