A brief search on the Internet will deliver numerous scholarship opportunities for LGBT students looking to better their educational journey. League Foundation at AT&T LGBT Scholarship– This scholarship is available to LGBT students who have accumulated a 3.0 grade point average. It is imperative that these students have demonstrated strong community service skills and have been accepted to an accredited U.S. College or University. The awards range from $1,500 to $2,500.

The Point Foundation – LGBT Scholarship– This is an outstanding scholarship for LGBT students. Not only does the foundation award as much as $13,600 per student; but in addition they provide outstanding mentoring and leadership skills in support of the journey. The foundation expects high standards from their scholars.

Live Out Loud Scholarship– This special foundation offers no less than three gay scholarships to LGBT students in the New York Tri State area. These awards are for $2,500 each. These scholarships are geared towards High School seniors who are preparing for graduation and looking to start a successful educational journey.

LGBT Journalism Scholarship– The Leroy F. Aarons Scholarship Award is sponsored by the National Gay and Lesbian Journalists Association and available for those LGBT students seeking an exciting career in journalism. The annual award is normally $5,000.

Quality Scholarship Collaborative Awards– These scholarships are open to LGBT students who are graduating from High School and live in Northern-Central California. They typically award over a dozen $5,000 scholarships annually.

If you have a talent for writing, and you are also lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender, you can get help paying for your education through the Queer Foundation; through the Queer Foundation Scholarship Fund. This is one of the few opportunities available to the LGBT community, in terms of scholarship funds, that is almost completely based on writing skills.

If you are LGBT or are a close friend, parent, or family member of someone who is you may be able to get a gay college scholarship to help pay for your tuition from PFLAG. While several scholarship funds make up the scholarship program, typically, you will only be awarded one of the scholarships from the fund, but the lowest amount that you may win, if you are selected, is $1000, and numerous awards are made each year from the PFLAG Scholarship Program.

Humanity in Action is an educational organization that operates on a global basis. The main focus of the organization is to smooth out differences in races, cultures, sexual preferences, and more. The organization is composed of students throughout the world. They strongly try to overcome the denial of rights for minorities in college campuses globally.
