The unknown Camille and Bill Cosby Scholarship in science was established by Camille and Bill Cosby in memory of their late son Ennis William Cosby. It is administered through Temple University Natural Science’s Department, which is located in Philadelphia, PA. The main campus is 1.5 miles north of Center City Philadelphia, very close to the arts, music, intellectual and culture scene. Philadelphia is the country’s sixth largest city. New York and D.C. are close by also. So if you do happen to be awarded the Camille and Bill Cosby scholarship, you be very close to some very interesting places to discover during your college stay at Temple University.
The Camille and Bill Cosby Scholarship in science selection is based upon financial need, and you can apply to Cosby scholarship if you’re a junior majoring in the natural sciences and demonstrating a financial need. The minimum award amount is $3,500.00, the maximum being $3,500.00, and the average award is $3,500.00.
The Camille and Bill Cosby Scholarships is fully renewable for one year if the recipient maintains a minimum 3.0 GPA. This is not terribly hard to maintain compared with other scholarships today. The number of Bill Cosby Scholarship awards given out each year is (2).
You must apply by May 3rd through Temple University’s Natural Sciences Department offices starting in late February, along with one letter of recommendation. The person who will be awarded the Bill Cosby scholarship will be announced in early June by the Cosby Scholarship Committee of the Provost’s office based on nominations from the high schools.
There is also a second unknown Cosby scholarship awarded through Temple University and it’s called the Camille Cosby Scholarship in Science. This is awarded only to entering freshmen who graduated from Simon Gratz, Germantown, Central or Girls High School (all in Philadelphia), who intend to major in one of the natural sciences, and who have demonstrated financial need. The amount of this Cosby scholarship is (1) $2,400 tuition award, and is renewable for one year with a requirement that a 3.0 GPA is maintained. No separate application is required. The recipient is selected by the University’s Cosby Scholarship Committee of the Provost’s office, based on nominations from the Simon Gratz, Germantown, Central or Girl’s High School (all in Philadelphia).
If you do not qualify for a Bill Cosby Scholarship, Temple University offers incoming and continuing undergraduate students numerous easy scholarship opportunities to assist you in financing your education. Bill Cosby desires that students who were chosen for the awards will teach in schools in economically depressed areas for at least two years after their graduation.
Bill Cosby donated a performance to help raise $2.5 million in support of scholarships at Wesleyan University. Dr. Cosby received an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree from Wesleyan in 1987 and Mr Cosby supported the extraordinary efforts by Wesleyan alumni to support financial aid. Mrs. and Mr Cosby believe that “the price of education in the United States of America shouldn’t be unattainable.”

I am attending Fisk University this fall of 2009. They are also only giving me 5,000 dollars per year. I also recieved 4,000 dollars from the Hope Scholarship. This is fine, but there is still the remainder of the cost that i may not be able to afford. I need money. It’s my money and I want it NOW!!! Please, if you can help me I would greatly appreciated. I’ve looked high and low for scholarships and my parents apparently “make too much money”, so i was unable to recieve any financial aid. I am in a struggle and I need a boost to overcome. you are recieving scholarship monies now, so this may be why you are not recieving any more if you been getting turned down. You also mentioned that your parents make too much money for some of the other financial aid programs which is the reasons why you may be getting turned down even more. There are many grant programs that are only available for lower income families.
I always recommend trying at a free scholarship search service to quickly see if there is any other scholarship programs that you can get. Sometimes, when you are awarded one type of scholarship program, then you may be also eligible for another type too. This is were the scholarship search service can quickly assess that for you. But, it also work in reverse too. If you are presently recieving scholarship monies now from a program, then this may cause you to become ineligible for others.

Keep trying and looking and don’t give up. I would call Fisk and ask to speak to the most experienced financial aid manager and ask him/her what other scholarship/grant/aid programs are also available to people like you that are also recieving the like types of scholarships you get now? You may be surprised.

you must read through our website of list of scholarships to see if you fit the criteria of any of the scholarships we have written about. If you feel your a good candidate then apply directly to the sponsor of the scholarship. You may want to read up on no cosigner student loans which you may need if you receive no more scholarship money or if you need time still looking for other grant/scholarship options.
Hi. I’m a teacher in Washington Heights, New York. I work with children who come from broken homes and have very poor social, academic and financial resources. Due to the lack of funds, we the teachers, have very limited materials. Last year, it was very diffficult. My students need the basics; pencils, notebooks, glue, scissors, paint, sharpener, even books due to the lack of books in Spanish. I was told Bill gives small grants to students in need. I would like to know how to apply to one of these grants, therefore, I could supply my students with the basic materials for their education. I desesperately need ink for the printer, computers, pencils, notebooks, glue, crayons, paint, writing loose leaf paper, sharpeners, construction paper, folders and paint. I had to struggle and it was avery difficult 2010-2011 school year because of the lack of these materials. Each student needs 8 composition notebooks and the parents can’t afford it. I tried to buy as much as I could, but could only afford as much.
I hope you can help.
